The camera is back form the repair shop so I thought a few photos were in order. I will try to get outside photos tomorrow. I am amazed at how much lettuce I picked tonight! Some is from my first planting and some from my second. I am amazed at how things are taking off from spring plantings and how the fall plantings are still giving us kale, chard and broccoli!

Hooray for spring salads again! And wow that is a lot of tomatoes – what kind of pinkish greens are those on your salad?
Do you mean in the round bowl? The pink leaves are a kale I planted in fall. I went back through the blog and of course I did not put the names of what I planted. Aargh! The whole purpose of the blog….I will look it up though – I am pretty sure I wrote it down. I have been wanting to know as I would like to plant again. I like the “dino” kale a lot but this one was nice to mix with it. I have a wild garden kale from Territorial coming up now but it was not my fav last year. But I had seeds so I planted them. I got the pink kale from “The Backyard Gardener” – she lives in West Seattle and sold starts at the Tilth’s fall sale.
Since i planted all my fall starts too late – late Sept – they gave me no food in the winter but I am surprised how much they given me this spring. I think I will plan to put in some things “too late” so I get this nice overlap.
Hope you are hanging in there and glad the strike is over!
